  • Joint Operation “Security Companies and the Norkem Park SAPS”

    Alpha Security was proud to be involved in a joint operation with the SAPS and Security companies, People at home during the day on 19 March 2013, might have noticed that there was a large Police and Security presence in Birch Acres and Birchleigh………..

    I was posted on a SAPS vehicle in Birchleigh and we greeted allot of residents that were at home……..

    There was arrests made and Cannabis sativa confiscated, we also had a stop and search on the corner of Olienhout and Ysterhout in Birchleigh, we found drivers without licences and unlicensed vehicles, there was a few vehicles that was searched intensely, but unfortunately we could not find any weapons or stolen goods.

    I think it is important that the robbers realize that we will be having more of these joint operations…..Criminals be ware

  • Norkem Park SAPS Crime Meeting

    On 13 March 2013 I was invited to attend a meeting at the Norkem Park SAPS, The main point of discussion was the increase in House Burglaries in the Birch Acres and the Birchlreigh Areas…………..
    It is important to know that there has been a total of 26 House break-ins in Birch Acres and a total of 25 House break-ins in Birchleigh since the beginning of March 2013.
    Please ensure that you stay alert at all times and that you ensure to switch on your alarm system, even if just going to the shop.
    The SAPS also informed us to be on the lookout for suspicious vehicles
    1. A black Range Rover with black MAG wheels
    2. A silver Audi sedan
    3. And a Gold BMW with diplomatic number plates
    If you spot any of the above vehicles in your area please contact Norkem Park SAPS on 011 391 1814, or your nearest station.
    Alpha Security will take hands with the Norkem Park SAPS, and many other Security Companies in the area to combat these burglaries and reduce them to a minimum, I will keep you up to date of our operations and successes, unfortunately I will not post any operations information before the operation has been carried out. But will try and keep you up to date after the operations.

  • AS A CONSUMER OF SECURITY SERVICES

    AS A CONSUMER OF SECURITY SERVICES DO YOU KNOW

    • As a consumer of security services the Private Security Industry Regulation Act (Act 56 of 2001) places an explicit legal onus on consumer of private security services to use only legitimate and registered security service providers. Consumers can be found guilty of a criminal offence and can be prosecuted for intentionally or negiligently using the services of s security business which is non-complaint with the Act. Any security service provider has to be registered with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority). A registration certificate to this effect must be made available on request.
    • Are all of the employees deployed to render a security service registered with the Authority? Registration certificates as well as the last PSIRA audit inspection report to this effect must be made available on request) as well as the last PSIRA audited inspection report.
    • Are all the security officers deployed to provide a security service, in possession of the necessary training certificates from accredited training establishments?
    • Are all the security officers deployed to provide a security service, paid at the least minimum statutory wage applicable in terms of the Sectoral Determination 6 for the private security industry issued by the Minister of Labour.
    • Does the security business guarantee that all the security officers deployed on your premises will adhere to the statutory code of conduct applicable to all security service providers?
    • Does the security business guarantee that its security officers are specifically trained for the task that they have been allocated to do?
    • All security officers are required to be members of a provident fund ant the company must contribute 6.5% of their salary to the fund and the employee contribute 6.5% of their salary to the fund. Can your security service provider produce a letter of goodstanding from its provident fund administrator?
    • Does the security business register for tax and can they provide their tax clearance certificate and up to date contribution?
    • Does the security business register for Workmanship Compensation and can they provide you a letter of goodstanding?
